Mini USA Beauty Haul

My sister went to America a few weeks ago and I asked her to pick me up a few bits from Sephora when she was in New York City  Originally I asked for a Make Up Forever primer but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock. I instead decided to get the Laura Mercier primer as it is down as a cult primer in the make-up world.  I didn't really know what to expect from these products as I feel some blogger favourites are massively over hyped. Here's my verdict!

Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer / $34 / Link - I love how this comes in a tube as you can squeeze every bit of product out like with toothpaste. I was surprised how little this felt like silicone on my face as that has been the case with some primers I've used in the past. It's a smooth kind of gel that effortlessly applies to my face in order to create a barrier between my skin and foundation. In terms of keeping foundation on, I'm not too sure I've worn it enough. But what I will say is that foundation applies better when this is underneath. I still definitely need to apply powder to my face but I'm pretty sure my make-up stays on for that little bit longer when I have this on.

Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer / $20 / Link - This is seriously good stuff! It is high coverage and covers spots so well. It's got a creamy texture that stays on well when powdered. I think it's great for big spots as well as large areas of blemishes as it doesn't look cakey either. This is definitely my favourite out of the 3.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara / $32 / Link - Starting with the packaging...it's interesting. It's not your typical plastic tube - it's a purple snake skin type pattern and material. It's definitely unique and makes it look more fancy than your average drugstore mascara. The actual product itself gives volume and length to the point where I'm satisfied with not wearing eye liner in the daytime. I've stopped wearing liner as it makes my eyes appear smaller but sometimes the definition just isn't there, but this mascara just opens my eyes up and makes for a nice natural look. The brush is more long and thin than short and fat and the formula is perfect! The only criticism is that there can be quite a bit of product build up on the brush sometimes but that's easy to wipe off.

Let me know if you have any of these products. I'd love to know what you think and feel free to recommend me some that I should try out!
